Summary
SnagPal does not collect any personal data. All the content you create in the app - properties, snag lists, photos, reports - is stored locally on your device. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it (for example, by exporting a PDF report and emailing it).
The app does collect anonymous usage analytics to help us improve it - things like how often reports are exported. This contains no personal information, is never linked to you, and can be switched off in the app. It is described in the Analytics section below.
Who We Are
SnagPalis built and published by Bulldogs Digital Ltd ("we", "our", "us").
Address: Bulldogs Digital Ltd, West Sussex, United Kingdom
Website: https://snagpal.app
Contact: support@snagpal.app
What the App Stores
Everything you create in SnagPalis stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData and the app's private file storage. That includes:
- Properties, snag lists, individual snags and notes
- Photos you capture or import, and your annotations on them
- Floor plan images and the pins you place on them
- Your profile details (company name, inspector name, logo, accent colour)
- Assignees and rooms you add
None of this content is transmitted to us, Apple, or any third party. There is no cloud sync in this version of the app. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all of this data. (The app does send anonymous, non-personal usage analytics, which never include any of the content above - see Analytics below.)
Device Permissions
The app requests the following permissions only when you use the relevant feature:
- Camera:so you can photograph defects on-site. Photos are saved to the app's local storage, not to your main photo library unless you choose to share or export them.
- Photo Library: so you can attach existing photos (for example, a floor plan image) to a snag or property.
You can revoke either permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Analytics
To understand how SnagPal is used and to improve it, the app includes TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service. It records anonymous, aggregated usage signals - for example, when the app is opened, when a property, snag list or snag is created, and when a PDF report is exported.
This data is fully anonymous. It is tied only to a random, hashed per-install identifier that cannot be traced back to you, and it contains no personal information. We never send the content you create - addresses, client or inspector names, snag titles, descriptions, notes, or photos. Numbers (such as how many snags are in a report) are grouped into ranges rather than exact figures.
TelemetryDeck does not use cookies or advertising identifiers (IDFA) and does not track you across other apps or websites. You can turn analytics off at any time in the app: open your profile and, under Privacy, switch off "Share anonymous usage data".
The app contains no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.
PDF Reports & Sharing
When you tap "Export Report", the app generates a PDF on your device and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. From that point the PDF is subject to whatever service or person you share it with (email provider, messaging app, cloud storage, recipient). The PDF leaves your device only because you chose to share it.
This Website
This website (https://snagpal.app) exists to tell people about the app. It uses essential cookies for basic functionality and, only with your consent, anonymous analytics via Google Analytics. See our Cookie Policy for details.
In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
The current version of SnagPalis free to use with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If we add paid features in a future version, any associated payment is handled entirely by Apple's App Store - we never see your payment details.
Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Because we do not collect, store or process your personal data, most UK GDPR rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) do not apply - there is nothing we hold about you to act on.
For data stored on your own device, you are in full control. To remove all app data, delete the app from your device.
If you contact us by email, we will process your message only to respond to it and will delete the correspondence once it is no longer needed. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@snagpal.app.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
- Phone: 0303 123 1113
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time - for example if we add new features that change what data the app handles. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
