How do I back up my snags?+
All your data lives locally on your device. To back it up, use iCloud Device Backup (Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup). Your SnagPal data is included automatically in any iOS device backup. Cloud sync across devices is on the roadmap for a future version.
Will my snags survive if I delete the app?+
No. Because the data is stored in the app's private container, uninstalling the app will remove it permanently. If you need to free up space but keep your data, use iOS's "Offload App" option in Settings → General → iPhone Storage, which removes the app binary but keeps its data.
Can I use SnagPal on iPad?+
Yes. SnagPal is a universal iOS app and works on iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later.
Does SnagPal work without internet?+
Yes. Every feature - capture, annotation, floor plan pins, PDF export - works fully offline. The app does not require an account or a network connection.
How do I transfer my snags to another device?+
In this version, the simplest path is to export a PDF report from your current device and share it to the new one. Proper cross-device sync (via iCloud) is planned.
Is there a cost?+
SnagPal is currently free to use with no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. If we add paid features in a future version, existing features will remain free.
